To access custom country or network coverage for your IoT devices, you can easily manage and change your settings directly through our platform. Simply navigate to the specific SIM card settings and select the coverage you need. Your changes will take effect within a minute, providing immediate access to the desired network zone. At Simbase, we offer the flexibility to switch your network coverage as often as needed to ensure your devices stay connected wherever your business takes you.

Simbase SIM cards are designed to provide seamless connectivity across multiple networks within most countries using just one SIM card. If your device relocates within a country and loses its connection to the current network, it will automatically switch to the next best available network without interruption. This auto-switching also applies when moving between countries; the SIM will connect to the most suitable network available in the new location.
To ensure your device maintains this level of connectivity, it is important to select the appropriate coverage plan in our dashboard that includes access to the countries your device will operate in. For detailed information on all available networks and access technologies, you can refer to the coverage list available on the dashboard. This feature underscores our commitment to providing continuous, reliable service wherever your IoT needs arise.

While Simbase strives to offer global connectivity, there are instances where certain countries may not be listed on our default coverage plans. This could be due to a variety of reasons including conflicts, sanctions, or special regulatory requirements that prevent us from offering service. Additionally, some countries may have custom rates that are not included in the standard coverage plans.
If you notice a country missing from our list and require connectivity there, please do not hesitate to contact our support team. We are committed to assisting you and exploring all possible options to meet your connectivity needs, ensuring that your IoT operations are as extensive and flexible as possible.

Simbase SIM cards are non-steered, which means they do not favor any specific network. This allows your device to freely select the best available network based on real-time conditions. Our SIMs can access over 391 networks worldwide, chosen for their robust permanent roaming capabilities and reliability.
When your device is in an area with multiple network options, the network selection is primarily managed by the cellular modem and the device’s firmware. The modem scans for all accessible networks and connects to the one that provides the strongest signal. Factors influencing this decision include the supported frequency bands of your device, its geographical position, local tower traffic, and other technical elements.
For optimal connectivity, it's important to keep your device firmware up to date. For more information on maintaining optimal firmware settings, please consult our general firmware advice guide. This flexibility and autonomy in network selection underscore our commitment to providing seamless and efficient connectivity for your IoT devices, wherever they may be.

LTE (Long Term Evolution) is often considered the standard for 4G technology, providing substantial improvements over previous 3G technologies in terms of speed and latency. While LTE falls under the 4G umbrella, it does not meet all the technical requirements designated for true 4G (such as higher data rates), but it was the first step towards the 4G speeds we utilize today.
5G, or fifth generation, is the latest advancement and while it builds on the foundation laid by 4G LTE, it is not classified as LTE. 5G offers significantly greater speeds, lower latency, and higher capacity, facilitating more advanced applications like augmented reality, IoT integrations, and smart cities.
At Simbase, our SIM cards support these technologies, ensuring that your IoT devices can leverage the fastest and most reliable network available, staying ahead with cutting-edge connectivity solutions. This alignment with progressive standards showcases our dedication to leading the IoT connectivity landscape.
