The GL.iNet GL-X300B, also known as the Collie, is a compact 4G LTE router. This guide covers hardware setup, connecting to the router, setting the APN, and optionally enabling remote access.

Before you start, make sure your SIM is activated in the Simbase dashboard. If it isn't, see Enable or disable a SIM card first.

Step 1: Prepare the hardware

1. Confirm your SIM is registered and enabled in the Simbase dashboard.

2. Press the SIM holder release button with the included needle and remove the SIM tray.

3. Insert your Simbase SIM into the tray, chip facing upwards, and slide it back into the router.

4. Connect the antennas to their labelled connectors.

5. Connect the power cable to the router and plug it into an outlet.

Step 2: Connect to the router

The router takes a few minutes after power-on for its Wi-Fi network to appear. The Wi-Fi name (SSID) starts with GL-X300B, and the password is goodlife.

1. Connect your computer to the router's Wi-Fi, or connect via an Ethernet cable to the LAN port.

2. Open a browser and go to http://192.168.8.1.

3. Choose your preferred language and set an admin password.

Step 3: Set the APN

1. Click Manual Setup.

2. Click More.

3. Clear the APN field and enter simbase.

4. Optionally, set the MTU value to 1200.

5. Click Apply.

Your device should now connect to the internet.

Enable remote access (optional)

If you need to reach the router's admin panel without being on its local network, you have two options: forwarding a port, or using GL.iNet's GoodCloud platform.

Option A, Forward a port

1. Make sure your SIM has a public or private IP assigned. See Public IPs.

2. While connected to the router's Wi-Fi or LAN, go to 192.168.8.1 and log in.

3. Click Firewall, then Open Ports on Router.

4. Enter:

   • Name: HTTP

   • Port: 80

   • Protocol: TCP

   • Status: Enabled

5. Click Add.

The router's admin panel is now reachable on its public or private IP.

Option B, Use GoodCloud

1. Go to Applications → Remote Access.

2. Enable GoodCloud.

3. Enable Remote Web and/or Remote SSH as needed.

4. Select your preferred platform zone.

5. Copy the Device ID.

6. Agree to the Terms & Conditions and click Apply.

7. Log in to GoodCloud.

8. Go to Device List and click + Add device.

9. Paste the copied Device ID, click the refresh button, and select your device.

10. Give the device a friendly name and click Add Device.

Your router is now connected to GoodCloud and can be managed remotely from there.
