A coverage plan determines which countries and which networks within those countries a Simbase SIM is allowed to attach to. You pick a plan per SIM. Different SIMs in the same account can run on different plans, depending on where each one will deploy.

Picking the right plan
A few rules of thumb:
Match the plan to the smallest geography that covers your deployment. A narrower plan typically prices better than a global one for the same per-MB usage. If all your devices are in the US, USA is cheaper than Global.
Plan per SIM, not per account. It's normal to have a mix: Europe for devices in your home market, Global for travelling devices, USA for fixed installations in one country.
If devices move between regions, pick the plan that covers all the regions they'll visit. Don't try to switch plans mid-trip.
Global+ is for deployments that genuinely need the widest footprint (for example, logistics, maritime, vehicles crossing many borders). Most fleets don't need it.
Switch a SIM's plan
Sign in to dashboard.simbase.com.
Open the SIM you want to update.
Find Plan & Coverage.
Select the new coverage plan.
Confirm.
There is no fee for switching plans, and you can switch as often as you need. The new plan takes effect on the next data session. For devices currently online, a Reset connection or device reboot picks it up immediately.
How coverage interacts with other features
Roaming. All Simbase SIMs are roaming SIMs. The plan you pick determines which networks the SIM is authorised to roam onto. See Data roaming.
SIM profile (colour). Coverage plans are set independently of the SIM profile, so a Black profile SIM and a Blue profile SIM can both run the Global plan. The networks each one actually reaches can differ slightly, though, because the two profiles sit on different operator agreements. See SIM Profiles.
Public IPs. A SIM with a Public IP keeps the IP regardless of coverage plan changes. Daily Public IP fees are separate from plan-based usage charges.
Common questions
Yes. Plan changes take effect immediately. Usage already accrued on the old plan is billed at the old plan's rates; new usage from the change forward is billed at the new plan's rates.
No. The SIM will fail to register on networks outside its plan's coverage. The fix is to switch to a wider plan and reset the connection.
Yes. Each plan has its own per-MB rates, and narrower plans are generally cheaper than Global or Global+. Switching plans is free, so it's worth matching the plan to where devices actually operate. See Billable items.
Yes, select multiple SIMs in the dashboard and apply the change in bulk, the same way as enabling or disabling.
